Highlights of the Tour

Explore Nairobi, the vibrant capital of Kenya and the social hub of Africa, known for its lively street markets and shops. Then, we will move on to a safari adventure in Amboseli National Park, which spans 400 square kilometers and has over 80 mammal species to encounter. Experience the jaw-dropping landscapes and hiking opportunities at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro and discover Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake (by area) and the world’s largest tropical lake. Venture to the bustling safari town of Arusha, a gateway to Tanzania’s national parks, and be touched by its vibrant atmosphere.

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park is a breathtaking gem in Tanzania’s wildlife-rich landscape. Renowned for its diverse ecosystems, visitors can witness the spectacle of tree-climbing lions and thousands of pink flamingos against the backdrop of the shimmering lake. The park offers a unique blend of game drives, birdwatching expeditions, and walking safaris, providing enthusiasts with an enthralling safari experience.

Mto wa Mbu Village

During an engaging visit to this colorful town, you will experience the unique culture and enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant. Learn more about the customs and traditions of the distinctive Maasai Boma tribe during a special visit. This tribe is one of the most iconic and easily recognizable ethnic groups of East Africa.

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park is the sixth largest park in Tanzania and is home to massive herds of elephants, wildebeest, and zebra. It is also well-known for its iconic baobab trees that dot the landscape. Transport

JENMAN Safaris uses fully equipped Toyota Land Cruisers, Sprinters and 12-seater 4×4 Safari vehicles (Chosen vehicle determined by JENMAN African Safaris).

Travelling Times and Distances

All travelling times in Kenya and Tanzania are affected by road conditions, border crossings, detours and weather conditions, therefore on certain days travelling times may be longer than anticipated especially where there is a great distance to be covered. Please keep in mind that the time it takes to travel 100 km in your home country is not equivalent to the time it takes to travel 100 km on African roads, therefore we encourage you to sit back and enjoy the spectacular scenery Africa has to offer. Where possible additional stops will be made to ensure your travelling comfort at all times.

Meals

Most breakfasts and dinners on the East Africa Migration Discoverer will be enjoyed in the restaurants of the various accommodation establishments. Lunch packs are provided for driving days and excursions. Alternatively, the guide will prepare lunch en-route. Please advise us of any special dietary requirements in advance.

Visas and Health Certificates

The onus is on the client to organize all visas and health certificates required to visit Kenya and Tanzania prior to departure.

Travel Insurance

Please note that travel and cancellation insurance is mandatory for every guest travelling with JENMAN African Safaris. All insurance is solely the responsibility of our guests. Please ensure you arrange your own insurance with protection for the full duration of your journey to cover personal injury, damage and loss of personal items including but not limited to camera equipment and other electronic items, medical expenses, repatriation expenses and loss of luggage, etc. Please speak to your travel agent if you require assistance.

Day 1 - Naironi , Kynya

On arrival Cape Town International Airport, you will be met and transferred On your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your Nairobi hotel for an afternoon of relaxation and an overnight stay.to your hotel.  You have the remainder of the day at leisure to acclimatize and relax.

Enjoy a hearty breakfast and meet your guide and the rest of the group at reception for your pre-departure meeting at 08h00. Kindly ensure you are packed and checked out before this meeting as you will depart shortly afterwards. The day starts with a morning game drive in Narobi National Park. We then make our way to the Daphne Sheldrick Animal Orphanage for a visit. The institution is named after the wife of the late famous Naturalist, David William Sheldrick who was the founder warden of Tsavo East National Park in Kenya from, its inception in 1948 to 1976. The baby animals are transported from the national park to the orphanage for a mud bath, and you’ll have the opportunity to spend an hour with them. Lunch will follow before driving to Amboseli National Reserve, arriving in the afternoon.

After breakfast, begin your day exploring the city sights, from the colourful cottages of Bo-Kaap to the lively stalls at Green Market Square. Enjoy a scenic cable car ride up Table Mountain, where you’ll take in stunning panoramic views. Continue on to the Company Gardens, browse the exhibits at the Iziko South African Museum, and immerse yourself in history at the historic Castle of Good Hope.

Depart the city for an exciting adventure. A transfer will take you to the Kagga Kamma Nature Reserve, located within Cederberg. Upon arrival, enjoy some refreshments, settle into your accommodations and indulge in a delectable lunch. Enjoy the spectacular scenery, tranquility, and of course, South African cuisine. Your days are filled with adventure, offering two daily excursions of your choice. Enjoy stunning Nature Drives, explore fascinating Rock Art, or unwind with a scenic Sundowner Tour.

After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Cape Town International Airport in time for your departure flight. We hope to welcome you on one of our African adventures again soon!
